After many days of that suffocating, hot blow dryer feeling when you walk outside here during July in the desert, it poured rain for more than 12 hours straight. We were graced by gorgeous and plentiful dances of lightning across the sky, as well as courageous and magnificent bouts of rolling thunder throughout the night. What glory to witness! So, in gratitude, I become the poet and sing back to the rain.
Thank you for reading! May something unexpected find its way to you during these summer days, and may it be a joyful moment to release and reset.
Rain Reset
It is rare
for it
to thunder,
lightning,
and rain
all night long
in the desert.
After sunset,
it began
like a shaman’s drum.
Kicking up
batting around,
And then:
dissolving
the unrelenting,
dusty
summer heat
into this
longed for
monsoon
magic.
All night,
held
by the sound
of the rain,
constant
and
precious,
like a
beloved.
From the rush
of waters,
senses
and souls
opened,
seen,
cleansed
and
delivered
fresh,
glistening
to the
dawn.
All of this rain.
All for us.
All for the joy.
All for the gratitude.
Of release.
Of flow.
Of letting go.
Of release, of flow, of letting go…love!
AWESOME!!
